I find this one a bit tricky. I hate the campy show from the 60s and Batman and Robin, but the rest were really entertaining movies... hmmm... I think because of the fantastic acting talent I'll go for The Dark Knight, but only by a very small margin.

Inmates of Gotham, rules of the site [MUST READ] « Result #4 on Aug 1, 2008, 10:25pm »
Welcome to Inmates of Gotham!
RPG Intro
A simple introduction seems in order. In this RPG you are roleplaying either a real character from the Batman (and in some cases DC) Universe or a custom character invented by you in the first person. RPG, of course, does not stand for rocket-propelled grenades, but rather, Role Playing Game. You’re roleplaying should be designed to tell a story about your character and, in some cases, his/her ‘acquaintances’.
So, let your creative juices run wild, so long as you follow these rules of course.
Inmates of Gotham Rules
1) Please refrain from using bad or foul language. I understand that some words like ‘Damn’ are likely to be accepted at most places, however I do not want to lose this site due to proboards finding the discussions inappropriate. If you do curse, please insert the first and last letter of the word and fill in the rest with stars, for example ‘D**n’.
2) Your posts in the RPG must contain at least a paragraph. In other boards, posting one or two words is unacceptable and will result in an increase of your warning level.
3) When creating custom characters, I am not looking for you to create a really powerful character. The atmosphere of the roleplay will be hugely spilt for myself and other r/pers. If you are not sure about a certain power, please message me personally and I will sort it out.
4) Members may play as a maximum or four characters now, and must create a separate profile and account for each.
5) If you are planning to begin an RPG with somebody else, please PM them about it first and make sure they agree to it all. Of course, you can jus add the [open] tag to your thread and anyone can join. Basically, if you want to roleplay with somebody you cannot do it without their consent.
6) No taking control of another’s character. If the character is not taken yet, it is okay, so long as you do not cause them to change significantly i.e insanity or cause them to die or become paralysed. Basically just don’t change the characters, but you can still use them. If someone as playing as that character, however, you will hopefully have agreed to the thread before hand and you must wait for their reply, do not speak for, move or take control of their character!
7) When your character is speaking, please use speech marks. E.g….“Hi!” Joker called.
8) Please use italics for thoughts that pass through your characters head. If you do not know how to do this, just ask for help. I’m sure anyone can offer it to you.
9) Please do not use asteriks (stars - *) for when your character is performing an action. Describe what he/she is doing with words, it will make the post much more interesting.
10) When fighting, you cannot make your character automatically hit the other person. For example, ‘Batman punched Joker in the face and he fell to the floor’. This is unacceptable, as it is controlling the other person’s character. Something more like this would be better: ‘Batman drew his fist back furiously. His eyes lit with rage as he launched his clenched hand toward the clown, hoping to knock him straight to the floor.’ You see, with this, you are giving the other person a chance to react to your action, as they may not want the fight to go in the direction you do.
11) When roleplaying, even if you want to win fights, you must not make your character win every single time. Batman is an expert fighter but even he loses sometimes. Just remember your limits when roleplaying.
12) Never kill off a character without the permission of the person playing as the character. Also, do not kill any character from the canon character list that has not been taken. The only characters you can kill are those not influential to the story and without a profile, such as minor thugs, minor policemen, civilians etc.
13) The final, most important rule. NEVER offend another member of the site. If they offend you first, tell a member of staff and they will be banned. We are trying to build a fun community here where Batman fans can enjoy to tell and read stories about their favourite characters, not a war zone. Listen to me carefully when I say your warning level will instantly rise to 100% for this and you will be banned for an amount of time specified by myself personally.
These are the basic rules for roleplaying here at Inmates of Gotham. Please follow these, as consequences can be very dire. If you have not already please review the other rules pages as they will assist newcomers on how to roleplay and the systems we have in effect on this site. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and have fun roleplaying. Once you are ready join the story and get posting away.
Yours truly, Mr. Joe Kerr. Peace out beautiful!

Character Template (Canon and Non-Canon) « Result #5 on Aug 1, 2008, 6:17pm »
<Insert Name>'s Character Application Please delete this sentence and the descriptions, which follow each bit you have to fill out, when you have finished your application, thank you.
Character – The name of the character you’re playing, e.g. Batman, The Riddler etc. Real Name – Your characters real name as a pose to their hero or villain name, e.g. Bruce Wayne, Edward Nygma etc. Age – The estimated age for your character. Please be realistic, we are not playing this rpg with Bruce Wayne as a 90 year old man. Occupation - Please tell us what your character does as a living and where they do it (can be 'unemployed' or 'criminal'), as well as what they used to do for a living and where they used to work Alignment - State whether your character fights for good or evil, hero or villain basically Base of Operations – The place your character operates from. If they have more than one, list them all. Additionally, if they have a different base of operations for their different personalities, such as Batman using the Batcave whereas Wayne uses Wayne enterprises and the mansion, please also list these and specify who uses them. Do not include their workplace. If it is impossible to answer, simply put 'mobile'.
Overall Physical Description – Give a detailed description of your character, including details about their hair, facial features, clothes, and anything else you can think of. At least a paragraph worth of detail is required here.
Personality – Give a detailed description of the personality of your character here. Obviously, describe the differences if your character tends to have split or wacky personalities. Once again, a minimum of a paragraph is required.
Powers – Any super powers your character has. Please list each power, state what it does and describe how it looks. Abilities – Any abilities your character has go here. As with the powers list them and tell us what it allows the character to do. Please note that abilities are things that do not exceed human potential, and do are not considered super human. Equipment – Please list here any equipment your character uses, however do not include everyday equipment such as a mobile phone or doorbell. This includes any gadgets, and armaments, any firearms, any vehicles, and anything else your character uses to aid their secret (or not so secret) life. Please include a short description of what each piece of equipment does.
History – 3 paragraphs is the minimum for this section. Please so not pretend that your character has no past. Everyone has a past, even when they are not aware of it. Joker, for example, knows nothing of his early life, however in the profile I make of him I will talk about more recent events that have happened. Please go as far back as is necessary, and do not hesitate to put down lots of information
Introduction – The final section to your profile. Here you need to do an example of how you would roleplay your character. This can also count as the introduction to the start of the roleplay. Please speak in 3rd person, not 1st (‘he’, ‘she’, ‘they’; not ‘I’ or ‘me’). This section is very important because people know a lot of the characters you will be roleplaying, and you need to do them justice in your posts. Basically, if you can’t do this bit, you probably shouldn’t be roleplaying as the chosen character.

Any characters not mentioned on this list are most likely out of action or dead. If this is the case, I will allow you to play these characters providing you come up with a good story about their return. Ask about any character you wish, as my main policy is to keep the members happy. In fact, if I cannot fit your character into the roleplay, I will personally design your next character application. Please note that not all characters are out of action or dead. I am only human and may have made some mistakes when listing them, so your suggestions are welcomed as it may be a simple mistype.
On a Final note, if you wish to play a henchman character, simply contact an administrator, not a moderator, and we will be happy to sort out your position. You will get your desired henchman, guaranteed!!!
All Guarantees listed are subject to our no overwhelming superpower policy.
